Preparing for the First Day

Starting with us is a momentous occasion for the whole family and we want your first time with us to be as enjoyable and stress free as possible. Below you will find some tips that you may find useful in the lead up to your first day:
Documentation Ensure that you have completed all the necessary forms and provided copies of all requested information – including medical management plans. If you are ever unsure during any part of this process, please do not hesitate to reach out our Oppia team, we are here to help.
Conversation It is important for your child to understand what is about to happen and talking about your orientation visits and the people you have already met will help your child familiarise and prepare themselves before the day. Including your child in the preparations, such as going shopping together to choose a drink bottle can also help promote positive anticipation.
Naming Belongings Clearly labelling your child’s items will assist our team in ensuring that all your child’s precious items return home. Labelling that is waterproof is ideal.
Packing their bag A suitably sized bag with multiple compartments is ideal for sending with your child. Please ensure that your child has a bag with them each time they attend. Our Oppia room teams will communicate to you any other individual items required for your child’s day.
Extra Clothing Our inquiry-based curriculums encourage the children to participate and immerse themselves fully in the learning being offered, or your child may be practising independent toileting - as a result, sometimes extra clothing may be required as the children may need to change their clothes. We recommend packing 2 full sets of clothing each day.
