About our Curriculums

Our curriculums are immersed in a philosophy of nurturing and discovering individual potential and a ‘joy’ for learning through play. At Oppia there is a strong focus on two key aspects of our approach that we believe ensures learning success:
  • Inquiry based, individualised learning journeys
  • A guided and balanced approach to the development of both the Emotional and Intelligence Quotients – to promote confident and engaged learners. E.G. Our Oppia Enrichment Program – drawing inspiration from the Finnish notion of “sisu” – which means to show grit or determination, our enrichment program provides targeted opportunities for the children to explore key aspects of their Emotional Quotient and learn more about themselves and their unique abilities alongside the Intelligence Quotient learning opportunities being provided
We believe that by harmonizing your child’s Emotional and Intelligence Quotients, and capturing the essence of the individual, we can better support them to become well rounded, self-aware learners… we call this “The Oppia Way”.

What our Curriculums Promote

Drawing inspiration from the Finnish and localised approaches to early learning, we are committed to ensuring that our curriculums promote:
  • Inquiry based learning environments – rich in open ended resources that provide children with the time needed to fully explore a concept in depth and seek out the unlimited outcomes and possibilities
  • Individualised learning, where uniqueness is celebrated, and the learning is tailored to the needs and interests of the child in partnership with their surrounds, peers and family and captured via individual enrichment plans and enrichment journals
  • Pedagogical leadership from our staff – where they not only guide but help drive the curriculums, and as a result, have a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development and upskilling to ensure a level of excellence is achieved in curriculum standards
